River Clean Up Day September 8, 2007

The Upper Guadalupe River Authority has rescheduled the 4th annual River Clean Up for Saturday, September 8th.  Registration will commence at 8:00 am and it is expected that the clean up will be concluded by 11:30 am .   Volunteers will gather at the Ingram Boat Ramp, Flat Rock Park and in Guadalupe Park.  Clean Up efforts will center around these areas.   Directions are below or can be obtained from UGRA (896-5445).

Groups and individuals are invited to participate in the River Clean Up.  Anyone interested in taking part need only show up on September 8th.  This year’s sponsors include UGRA, the Kerrville Chamber of Commerce, and the Boy Scouts of America.  The Alamo Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America has selected the River Clean Up to be a part of its “Good Turn for America ” program.  The Good Turn for America Program is a national call to service by the Boy Scouts designed to improve young people, local communities and the nation.  As part of its “Keep Texas Beautiful” program, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is providing supplies to aid in the Clean Up.

The first River Clean Up Day took place on Saturday August 14, 2004 and was a tremendous success thanks to all the volunteers that turned out in full force.

If you have any questions or would like to participate in the River Clean Up, please contact Tara Bushnoe at UGRA 896-5456 ext. 227.
