New UGRA Directors Sworn In
Kerrville, TX, July 21, 2004 – Three new
members of the Board of Directors of the Upper Guadalupe River Authority were
sworn in today by Representative Harvey Hilderbran (R – Kerrville). The new
Directors are: Stan Kubenka;
Dr. Jaime Quintanilla; and Retired Brig. General Walter Schellhase. UGRA Board President Janet Robinson said: “We are pleased to have these gentlemen join the
Board. Each of the new Directors
brings a lot to the table and we look forward to working with them as
stewards of the Upper Guadalupe River.”
Stan
Kubenka of Kerrville is a Branch Manager for INSCO Distributing. He is a member of the Plumbing, Heating and
Cooling Contractors of Texas, the Refrigeration Service Engineering Society
and the First United Methodist Church. He received
a Bachelor’s degree from Texas State University.
Dr.
Jaime Quintanilla of Kerrville is a Psychiatric Physician. He is a member of the Texas Medical
Association, a distinguished life fellow of the American Psychiatric
Association and a life fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Quintanilla is a founding member and
past President of the Texas Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He received a Bachelor’s degree and Medical
degree from the University of Nuevo Leon in Monterey, Mexico.
Retired
Brig. Gen. Walter Schellhase of Kerrville serves as the U.S. Army Reserve Ambassador for South Texas. He is
President of the Hill Country Veterans Council, Friends of the Kerr County
Historical Commission and Vice President of the Dietert Senior Center. Mr. Schellhase
is a Board Member of the Military Officers Association of America and the
Kerr Economical Development Foundation.
A graduate of the Army War College, the Command and General Staff College and the National Defense Intelligence School, he received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
The new Directors were appointed
by Governor Perry to serve terms expiring February 1, 2009. The UGRA Board now consists
of Janet F. Robinson, President; Ronnie J. Pace, Vice President; A.L. “Curg”
Starkey, Secretary-Treasurer; Mollie Maresh,
Assistant Secretary-Treasurer; Jerry Ahrens; and Calvin Weinheimer, in
addition to the newly appointed Directors.
