UGRA Adopts Environmental Laboratory Business
Plan; Plans Purchase of Laboratory Information Management System
Kerrville, TX, December 15, 2004 – UGRA today
adopted a Business Plan to guide management of its state-of-the-art
environmental laboratory. Greg Etter,
UGRA General Manager, said: “The Business
Plan is the roadmap to running the laboratory as a self-sustaining
entity. The lab is a community asset,
and the application of good business practices will ensure its future.” The Business Plan calls for the purchase of
a Laboratory Information Management System.
This relatively inexpensive software will modernize the way the lab
tracks samples and information and will result in a substantial savings of
man hours. Etter said: “The Laboratory
Information Management System will pay for itself by creating efficiencies
and allowing the lab to grow.”
The
UGRA Environmental Laboratory is a full service state-of-the-art laboratory
serving Kerr County and surrounding areas. The Laboratory’s analytical services
include bacteriological, chemical and biological testing of water, wastewater,
soils and sludge. It is one of the
largest microbiological labs in the state and certified by the Texas
Commission on Environmental Quality.
