UGRA Invites Public to Forum on the Value of the
Guadalupe River

Kerrville , TX , January 20, 2004 UGRA today announced that it will be hosting a public forum entitled “The Value of the Upper Guadalupe” on February 11th at 6:30 p.m.   All interested persons are invited to attend and participate in the Forum, which will take place at the Guadalupe Basin Natural Resources Center , 125 Lehmann Drive in Kerrville .  Greg Etter , UGRA General Manager, said: “The purpose of the Forum is to provide the opportunity to discuss the value of the Upper Guadalupe River .  A first-rate panel has been put together, and we are looking for audience participation in the dialogue.”

The Forum will be moderated by Dr. Tim Summerlin , President of Schreiner University.  The focus of the Forum will be the multiple attributes that make the Guadalupe valuable to the people of Kerr County .  President Summerlin stated: “We all agree on the critical importance of the Guadalupe to our community and region.  This Forum will give us an excellent opportunity to consider just how many-sided that value is.  I am looking 

forward to the opportunity to learn from the experience.”

 The Panelists, each of whom brings a different perspective on the River, are:

  • Brian Bondy - President, Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Sudie Burditt - Executive Director, Kerrville Convention & Visitors Bureau
  • Dr. James Dobie - Retired Biology Professor and Volunteer, Riverside Nature Center
  • Donnie Frels - Manager, Kerr Wildlife Management Area
  • Bob Miller - Executive Director, Texas Arts and Crafts Fair and former Owner, Pico Lures
  • Ron Patterson - City Manager, City of Kerrville
  • Blake Smith - Camp Director , Camp La Junta
  • Ginger Stehling - Owner, Ginger Stehling & Associates, Inc. and past President Kerrville Board of REALTORS (2003)
  • Roy Walston - County Extension Agent, Kerr County Agriculture and Natural Resources
