The table displays E.coli levels at various locations on the Guadalupe
River . E.coli levels are recorded as number of colonies
of bacteria per 100 milliliters of water for
a single grab sample. The Texas
Commission on Environmental Quality has set the
E. coli standard for contact
recreation (swimmer fully submersed in water) at 394 colonies of bacteria
per 100 milliliters of water.
Levels that exceed this standard are displayed in red. If levels exceed this standard, the risk
of contracting waterborne illnesses
increases (30 TAC
§307.7).
