The Guadalupe River is one of the highest rated recreational and scenic rivers in Texas; maintaining water quality is essential.  UGRA conducts several studies to monitor the River and water quality.

              

            Texas Clean Rivers Program

  • Routine monitoring on a quarterly basis (10 sites)

  • Bacteriological monitoring on a weekly basis between Memorial and Labor Day

  • Biological monitoring (2 sites)

                Volunteer River Monitor Program

  • Sites monitored by volunteers

  • Provides additional data to current database

                

                 Springs, Creeks, and Seeps

  • Up to 150 samples taken annually

  • Provides an evaluation of smaller water bodies in Kerr County  

  • Assists in the development of regional and site-specific standard

                 Public Concerns

  • Collection and analysis of water when there is a public concern

  • Formal complaint by an individual

  • Individual stressing concern regarding a particular site

The UGRA monitors rainfall and river flow in Kerr County.  The UGRA provides funds to support USGS River flow gauging stations in Kerr County.  Access to these stations can be easily obtained through the following links.
