22nd Annual River Clean Up Announced!
The Upper Guadalupe River Authority has scheduled the 22nd annual River Clean Up for Saturday, July 26, 2025. The headquarters for the Clean Up will be at Flat Rock Park in Kerrville. Directions to Flat Rock Park are below.
The first 300 registered volunteers will receive an official 22nd annual River Clean Up t-shirt. We will guarantee your requested t-shirt size if you register before June 30, 2025. Additional t-shirts will be given away on a first come basis the morning of the Clean Up.
Even though the River Clean Up is being staged at one location, volunteers will spread out to cleanup locations throughout the Guadalupe River watershed in Kerr County including dry creek beds, bridges, and roadways. Once cleanups are done, trash is brought back to Flat Rock Park where there will be an ecological fair, refreshments, entertainment, and a prize drawing.
Online registration deadline is Friday, July 18th. Follow the link below to register. Groups and individuals are invited to participate in the River Clean Up. If you choose to register by July 18th and you are local, you have the option to pick up your supplies the Monday-Thursday before the event (July 21-July 24) and then go directly to your assigned cleanup location the morning of the River Clean Up.
Art Contest to Design 2025 River Clean Up T-shirt
It’s that time again! UGRA is holding an art contest for Kerr County students K – 12 to design the 2025 River Clean Up T-shirt.
The entry deadline is May 9, 2025. The theme for this year is “A Clean River is a Healthy River!” Since it’s the 22nd annual River Clean Up, design your artwork with that in mind as well. Please incorporate elements in your design related to how you could work in your community to keep our Guadalupe River clean and healthy.
The winner of the contest will receive a $200 prize and the winner’s design and name will be placed on the 2025 River Clean Up T-Shirt. Also, the winner will be recognized by the UGRA Board of Directors and have their artwork displayed on the UGRA web page. The artist with the second place design will receive $100 and the artist with the third place design will receive $50.
